Andrew Weeks is Consultant Obstetrician at Liverpool Women’s Hospital and Professor of International Maternal Health Care at the University of Liverpool. Although brought up in Kenya, he undertook undergraduate and postgraduate medical training around Yorkshire.
In 2001 he returned to East Africa as visiting lecturer at Makerere University before settling in Liverpool in 2003. Andrew’s primary interest is innovations and the translation of maternity care from high to low resource settings. He has 3 patents and runs clinical trials in the UK, Uganda and India. He is currently developing the PPH Butterfly device and the Babysaver bedside neonatal resuscitation kit.
