Dr Sarah Joyce RIBA

Sarah is a RIBA Chartered Architect and NCT-trained antenatal teacher.
She completed her PhD: Towards a new architectural understanding of birth spaces grounded in women’s experiences of giving birth at the University of Sheffield in 2018, co-supervised in architecture and midwifery.
She is continuing her research as an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Leeds and as a member of the Leeds NHS Maternity Voices Partnership.
She is passionate about woman-centred care, interdisciplinary co-production and the social value of architecture as appropriate means to shape the future of maternity care.
