Dr. Yvonne Fontein-Kuipers graduated as a midwife at the former University of Paisley, Scotland.
She has practiced as an independent community-based midwife in the Netherlands and has worked as a lecturer/ program-leader of the on-distance learning program Bachelor/ Master of Science of Midwifery at Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland.
Dr. Yvonne Fontein-Kuipers holds combined posts as a research fellow at Antwerp University College Artesis Plantijn, Antwerp University Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and at Hull University, Faculty of Health Science as well and as associate professor at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, School of Midwifery and Research Centre Innovations in Care.
Specific research domains are: maternal mental health, woman-centered care and transition to parenthood.
